Hostile Takeover!

This month, Superman and Lex Luthor start to share the books.  The first part follows Superman's exile in space, and the back-up story shows what trouble Luthor is getting into back on Earth.

Superman #30

In the first half, Superman continues to wander aimlessly from one uninhabited planet to another.  He finds a grain-like plant on one world and briefly takes up farming, until his hard work is destroyed by the planet's harsh ecosystem.  Back at the Kent farmhouse on Earth, Matrix wonders what it must be like to be Clark Kent while his parents are kept awake worrying.

Hostile Takeover! part 1

In the second half of the book, Lex Luthor reflects on his rivalry with Superman since their first encounter in Man of Steel.  His network WLEX is being fined by the FCC for when Professor Hamilton hijacked the airwaves to broadcast Lex's almost-confession.  At the end of the issue, he decides to set his sights on acquiring S.T.A.R. Labs.

Adventures of Superman #453

Even alone in outer space, Superman is still suffering nightmares from killing the phantom zone criminals.  Superman confronts apparitions of his different personas: his human identity, his Kryptonian self, and his Gangbuster subconscious.  He floats off into space unconscious where he's picked up a strange spacecraft.

On Earth, Matrix surprises Ma and Pa Kent by using her shape-shifting powers to impersonate Clark Kent.  Professor Hamilton and Jose Delgado collaborate on a new Gangbuster suit to help protect Metropolis in Superman's absence.

Hostile Takeover! part 2

Lex Luthor starts a rumor that he's interested in buying S.T.A.R. Labs, unconcerned that this publicity is driving up the price of the stock.  S.T.A.R. scientists, including Kitty Faulkner, vow to quit if Luthor succeeds in his takeover.  Using Trumpian tactics, he holds a press conference where he announces he's not actively seeking the acquisition, and then he goes to the stock exchange and offers to buy at any price.
