A Tale of Two Supermen
It's a short month with only three issues and the schedule is a little off. This month starts with Action Comics, which used to be the last book of the month. We get an issue featuring Superman Blue, another starring Superman Red, and lastly one shared by both.
The samurai-themed villain, Kirichitan, makes his presence known in Metropolis. Superman Blue recognizes him as Dr. Noah Brazil, although I honestly couldn't find where that connection was made and there were no helpful footnotes in the story. Kirichitan is an extremist animal rights activist who for no apparent motive tries to lead wild animals into the city to stop traffic. The story doesn't really make much sense and he's never seen again after this.
The Daily Planet, descending into tabloid territory under Simone's marketing, has a contest to get the first picture of Lex Luthor's new baby, and an ambitious young reported named Carrie sneaks into LexCorp and gains access to the nursery.
This cover and the next cover form an interlocking image, which was an inexpensive gimmick to encourage people to buy both issues. In an apparent oversight, these covers are missing the Comics Code Authority seal of approval, but have no fear the stories are still suitable for all ages. We would see one of the biggest interlocking cover images in the next couple months during the Millennium Giants crossover.
Superman Red fights an unidentified villain who is creating time warps in the city, pulling people, dinosaurs, and other animals from the past into the present.
Dirk Armstrong asks Scorn to stop seeing his daughter Ashbury and putting her in danger. Scorn tells Ashbury goodbye and leaves in an emotional scene where she uses her daily 15 minutes of sight from her new visor just to watch Scorn walk away. Dirk is moved by this because Ashbury hasn't even used the visor to see her own father.
At the Daily Planet, Ron Troupe finally introduces his girlfriend Lucy Lane to his sister, Lenda, but she doesn't think it's a good idea for their parents to find out he's dating a white girl. While there, Lenda hits it off with publisher Franklin Stern and Ron is horrified that his sister is dating an older man. Photographer Carrie Axelrod brings a roll of film to Simone to claim the prize money for pictures of the Luthor baby.
At CADMUS, the Dragon's Teeth stones are starting to crack, leading into the Millennium Giants next month.
Scorn reaches a new low and gets a job at the fast food restaurant, Big Belly Burger, which he quits on the first day.
Superman Red responds to an explosion at CADMUS and runs into the Millennium Guard once again.
Jimmy Olsen and Misa are still traveling together, but strictly platonically. Jimmy is too bashful to even bathe in the river near Misa, and she's frustrated that he shows zero interest in her. They discover the "Fuzzlet", as Misa calls it, that has been stowing away on the bike with them, and they get attacked by the Black Crucible, who still want Jimmy's Medallion. Superman Blue stops the Black Crucible, but the Medallion vanishes and they lament that their failure means the end of the world.

Superman: The Man of Steel #77
The hospital where the Contessa was being kept in a coma mysteriously burns down, leaving no trace of Luthor's wife. However, Lex knows his wife too well to assume she may be dead.Superman Red fights an unidentified villain who is creating time warps in the city, pulling people, dinosaurs, and other animals from the past into the present.

Superman #133
Superman Red and Superman Blue both want to go to work at the same time, which totally defeats the advantage of one of them being Clark Kent full time while the other is free to be Superman all day. Superman Red goes to the office first and writes a story on a new construction project in Metropolis called Hypersector. Editor Perry White finds that article too jocular and begs Clark to reconsider publishing it. Later that day, Superman Blue re-writes the article but Perry finds that one too boring. Ultimately, Perry decides to re-write both into a single story.Scorn reaches a new low and gets a job at the fast food restaurant, Big Belly Burger, which he quits on the first day.
